PEKIN ~ Brent Jay Weiland, 36, of 7705 Zephyer Hills Way, Antelope, California, passed away at 1:06 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007 at UCSF Medical Center Moffitt-Long Hospital in San Francisco, California. He was formerly of Pekin.

He was born March 2, 1971 in Pekin to Jerry Lee and Janice Marie (Hamilton) Weiland. His parents survive of Pekin.

Brent was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Earl H. and Esther A. Hamilton and his paternal grandparents, Clell Christopher and Ruth Weiland.

Since 1991, he worked for NEC and then for Praxair in Roseville, California handling specialty gases used in making computer chips, last working on October 7th.

Brent loved to ride mountain bikes. He also enjoyed golfing, snow skiing and water skiing.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2007at St. John's (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. The Rev. Vernon L. Bettermann and William G. Krueger, D.C.E. will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church, 13443 Townline Road, Green Valley, IL 61534 or to Good Shepherd Lutheran School, 333 State Street, Pekin, IL 61554.
