Born February 27, 1947 in Pekin to Calvin and Irma (Deskin) Phillips, he married Wilma Jean Purdy on March 7, 1970 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Timmy (Dawn) Phillips of Bartonville, Richard (Aimee) Phillips and Terry Phillips, both of Pekin; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two half-sisters, Berta Deets of San Jose and Anna (Roy) England of Pekin and one half-brother, Jimmy Phillips of New York.Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; two half-brothers and one half-sister.
He had worked out of Laborer’s Local #231in Pekin.
Bruce enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing and driving around Spring Lake with his brother.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no services or visitation.
