

Born July 10, 1943 in Chicago, he was the son to Charles Merle and Helon Joan (Dumont) Rabb. His parents preceded him in death. He married Melanie Ann Page on July 11, 1966 in Rockville, Maryland. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Keith Rabb of St. Louis, MO, Marc (Alisa) Rabb of Pekin, and Charles (Carrie) Rabb of Charleston; and three granddaughters, Kayla Rabb of St. Louis, and Kennedy Rabb and Emersyn Rabb, both of Pekin.
He had served in the United States Navy for 8 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He later served in the United States Army for 12 years, retiring on June 1, 1992 as Sergeant First Class.
Bryon was the Boy’s and Girl’s Tennis Coach at both Pekin Community High School and later at Bradley University in Peoria. He had been the Tennis Pro for the Pekin Park District’s Parkside Athletics.
An avid tennis player, Byron enjoyed playing in the Tuesday and Saturday groups. He also enjoyed reading, working in his yard, and loved going the beach with his family. He had volunteered at Pekin Hospital.
His funeral will at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded after the funeral.
