Born July 28, 1966 in Pekin to Byron G. and Edda J. (Todd) Stewart, Sr., he married Doris J. “D.J.” Turner on June 15, 1985 in East Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Pekin; one daughter, Jessica M. Burhans of Pekin; two grandchildren, Linda Burhans and James Burhans, both of Pekin; one brother, Rob (Terri) Stewart of Pekin and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his father-in-law, Edward J. Turner, Sr. of Pekin.
Byron enjoyed working as a welder and last worked for DMI in Goodfield.
He enjoyed wood carving and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Byron was a collector of Hot Wheels.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Frank Noyes will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
