Carol Gutierrez

CREVE COEUR ~ Carol A. Gutierrez, 57 of Creve Coeur, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at her home.

Born February 8, 1954 in Peoria to Clarence and Margaret (Walker) Gettings, she married Vincent Gutierrez on December 28, 1981 in Phoenix, AZ.  He survives.

Also surviving are her parents of Creve Coeur, two sons, Nathan Gutierrez and Ryne Gutierrez, both of Creve Coeur and one very special friend, Jerry Shutt of Creve Coeur.

Carol was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark Gettings in May of 2007 and Harry Gettings in March of 2010.

She had worked for Buehler Home as a shuttle driver until 2009.  Prior to that, she had worked for Fleming and Potter from 1972 until 1982 and then Illinois Central College.

A great cook and homemaker, Carol loved spending time with her family and taking care of her parents.  A "die hard" St. Louis Cardinals fan, she enjoyed fishing and spending time on the internet, particularly Facebook.

Her memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.  The Rev. Fred Doughty will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
