

Born September 29, 1943 in Kankakee to Burnell and Helen (Simpson) Tucker, she married Gary Mayberry on February 1, 1964 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Philip (Mattie) Mayberry of Pekin and David (Korine) Mayberry of Morris; two daughters, Heidi (Matt) Mamer and Holly (Scott) Webster, both of East Peoria; eleven grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Lydon, Ryah, Madison, Mitchell, Moriah, Peyton, Logan, Bailey and Brooklynn; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Myckaela Sue; and one brother, John Tucker of Alpharetta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a graduate of East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, Illinois. She later graduated from Illinois State University with a teaching degree.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Pekin, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Carol worked as a teacher in Pekin School Districts 108 and 303. She had given swim lessons at the Village Courts in Morton and also volunteered at the Groveland Community Library.
Carol was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished the time she spent taking care of her grandchildren and enjoyed watching their sport activities.
Her funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday,October29, 2011at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Evangelist Larry Curry will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
