Born July 23, 1934 in Easton to Wilbur and Virginia (Spaits) Thies, she married Allen Stewart Gale on January 24, 1954 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Patrick Gale of Kingston Mines; one grandson, Josh (Alenea) Gale of Pekin; six great-grandchildren; one niece, Melody (Chris) Lusk of North Pekin; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Deborah Schreiber; one grandson, Jeremy Shults; and one sister, Wilma Harper.
Carolyn worked at the Pekin Kmart for 27 years, retiring in 1999 as a checkout supervisor.
Carolyn enjoyed square dancing for many years. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing. She was a great cook and seamstress.
Private graveside services will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
