Carroll "Carl" D Greer

Born January 23, 1943 in New Madrid County, Missouri to Harry T. and Marinda D. (Douglass) Greer, he married Patricia Ann Baker on April 11, 1964 in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Carla (Rich) Keith of Coopersville, Michigan; two sons, Robert (Shelley) Greer of Allendale, Michigan and Michael (Shannon Bultema) Greer of Jenison, Michigan; five grandsons; two great-grandsons; one sister, Faye Flick of Bertrand, Missouri; and one brother, Clifford (Sue) Greer of East Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter, Christine; and one brother, Thomas Greer.

Carl worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1994 as an inspector in building SS in East Peoria. After his retirement, he worked as a janitorial engineer at Vonachen Services, Inc. in Peoria.

He was a member of McArthur Drive Baptist Church in North Pekin and the UAW Local #974 Retirees.

Carl enjoyed fishing, reading his Bible, gardening, and being competitive while playing scrabble. Most of all, he cherished his family.

Per Carl’s wishes, cremation will be accorded and there will be no services.
