Born October 22, 1921 in Pekin to John Richard and Bessie Lucille Leach Dooley, she married Paul Neil Holmes on August 17, 1946 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving areone son, John Neil (Vicki) Holmes of Pekin; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Mrs. Holmes last worked as a sales clerk for Allen's Vogue in Pekin from 1968 to 1977. Previously, she had worked for Cohen's Furniture Company, Hackler's Drug Store, and Pekin Hospital, all in Pekin.
She was a former member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pekin.
She wasa member of T.O.P.S. for 12 years.
Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2005at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Rev. Paul D. Balaban will officiate.Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
