Clarence D Buck, Jr.

Born March 31, 1923 in Eureka to Clarence Daniel and Anna M. (Reeser) Buck, Sr., he married Minnie Simmons. He later married Gloria Imel in 1953 in Peoria.

Surviving are three sons, Ed (Sandy) Buck, Kevin Buck, both of Pekin and Mike (Brenda) Buck of Peoria; two daughters, Allison (Dan) Gebhart of East Peoria and Sandra Sims of Peoria; twenty grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dan Buck and two daughters, April Balcom and Carol Tjarks.

He last worked as an owner/operator of Buck’s Lock Shop in Pekin. He previously worked as a switchman of the Rock Island Railroad; as a bellhop at the Hotel Pere Marquette and the Ramada Inn, both in Peoria; as a cab driver for Peoria Checker and as a machinist for TAMPCO Inc. in North Pekin.

His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
