

He was born November 6, 1969 in Decatur, Alabama to Gerald Wayne and Brenda Fay (Lane) Vickers. After meeting in December of 1988, he later married his high school sweetheart, Angela D. Grainger on February 8, 1995 in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Danielle F. Vickers (20) of East Peoria; one son, Joshua R. Vickers (18), of East Peoria; two brothers, Darryl (Jenny) Vickers of Lytle, Texas and Andrew (Candice) Vickers of Pekin; his mother and stepfather, Brenda and Wayne Lingenfelter of Athens, Alabama; his father and stepmother, Gerald and Loretta Vickers of Athens, Alabama; his father-in-law, Robert Grainger of Marietta; his sister-in-law, Theresa (Cliff) Wehrli of Spring Bay and a brother-in-law, Eddie Grainger of Phoenix, Arizona. He also leaves one aunt; one uncle; seven nephews; one niece; several cousins and many friends.
A glazer, Daniel worked for Glass Doctors in Morton, last working on Friday, December 4th. He previously had worked for Standard Sheet Metal and at the Chateau on the Lake. He attended Illinois Central College and had earned his HVAC certification.
Along with work, Daniel enjoyed many passions and joys in life. He loved spending time with family and friends as well as hunting and fishing. He was gifted in culinary arts, playing bass guitar and by singing in multiple local bands. He had a great sense of humor and shared his wisdom with many. Daniel touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Rafael Ramirez will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for his children, in care of Members Choice Credit Union, 3919 North University Street, Peoria, IL 61614.
