Darla Sue Farnam

Born on December 31, 1951 in Pekin, she was a daughter of Donald Lewis and Suzanna (Shay) Wagner.

Darla is survived by one son, Zackary A. Farnam; one daughter, Dawn (Shane) Smith; seven grandchildren, Janice (Aaron) Godbey, Kayla Mortensen, Staff Sargent William “Jake” (Kailyn) Mortensen, Ryan Mortensen, Karabella Farnam, Alex Smith, Kaitlin Smith; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale Wagner and one sister, Diane (Ronald) Tomevi.

She was preceded in death by her parents; longtime partner, St. Mark Sanders; one granddaughter, Amber Elkins; two sisters-in-law, Judy Wagner and Paulette Wagner and one nephew, Clint Wagner.

Darla worked at Pekin Insurance and was a longtime homemaker. She enjoyed refurbishing furniture. Was a devoted Christian. Darla had a passion for animals and enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting.

Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday August 13, 2025 at 3 p.m. at the Celebrations Event Center, 100 St Marks Drive, South Pekin.
