Daven James Workman

He was born on June 9, 2005 in Pekin to Christopher Garrard and Teri Fouts.

Surviving are his mother, Teri (Francis Palm) Fouts of Peoria; his father, Christopher (Amber Ottwell) Garrard of Ellington, Missouri; two brothers, Aiden Garrard of Ellington, Missouri and Pierce Montgomery of Pekin; maternal grandmother, Tammie Workman of Pekin; maternal grandfathers, Christopher Fouts of Pekin and James Carpenter of Pekin; paternal grandmother, Roxanne (Charlie) Coleman of Ellington, Missouri; six aunts and uncles, Kayla (Mike Trumpy) Fouts of Pekin, Brian (Jess) Snider, Stephanie Morris, both of Ellington, Missouri, Nicholas Garrard of Pekin, Samantha Garrard of California and Wesley Garrard of Pekin; three cousins, Ryker Trumpy, Michayla Trumpy, Rowan Trumpy, all of Pekin and many other family and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers, Mike Garrard and Brett Snider and one cousin, Dave Wagner.

Daven worked as a roofer for Bold Look Construction in Pekin.

A stubborn, funny and extremely loving kid, Daven loved going four wheeling, canoeing and working on cars, especially his truck “Mean Green”. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, listening to music and being around his dogs, Cocoa, Peachy and Harley. He was an all-around beautiful soul who will be missed by many.

His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Peoria Heights Congregational Church. Pastor Rick Simpkins will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A Celebration of life will be following the service at Pekin Eagles Aerie 1869. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
