

PEKIN ~ Rev. David Lindsay Campbell, 51, of 309 Northwest 18th Street, Unit 1406 in Ankeny, Iowa, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2007 at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center Emergency Room in Des Moines, Iowa. He was formerly of Pekin.
Born March 2, 1955 in Pekin to Paul E. and Roberta Louise (Flynn) Campbell, he married Kathryn J. Huisinga on May 31, 1975 in Willmar, Minnesota. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Pekin; two daughters, Erin Nichole Campbell of Des Moines and Shauna Marie (Jason) Gilmore of Pekin; one brother, Scott Alan (Yvette) Campbell of Brainerd, Minnesota and his twin sister, Deborah Lynn (Phillip) Migit of Groveland. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
His father preceded him in death on August 12, 2006 in Peoria.
He was a 1973 graduate of Pekin Community High School. He then attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis and later graduated from Willmar Technical College in Minnesota with a degree as an electronics engineer.
Dave worked as an audio engineer for more than 25 years, last working a senior audio engineer in Des Moines for Audio Engineering Group, a division of R & D Industries of Milford, Iowa.
His heartbeat was music and he especially loved southern gospel music. He was a member of the Crystal City Quartet in Brainerd for 7 years. He also traveled and sang with several other quartets and trios over the years, which was his passion in ministry.
He was devoted to his family and also enjoyed fishing the lakes of Minnesota.
A licensed minister with the Assemblies of God, Dave attended New Hope Assembly of God in Des Moines and was a lifelong member of First Assembly of God in Pekin.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2007 at First Assembly of God in Pekin. The Rev. Mark K. Dexter and Rev. Quinn E. McKenzie will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
