

Born January 4, 1957 in Pekin to Robert and Amanda (McGill) Ellis, he married Deanna Wyman on March 26, 2012 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother and step-father, Bill Hollis of Washington; four daughters, Kristen (Latham) Musgrave of Waynesboro, Rhanda Ellis of Norris City, Julie (Josh) Parks of Creve Coeur, Leandra (Jon) Oller of East Peoria; two sons, Matthew Leazenby of Creve Coeur, Jeffery Leazenby of East Peoria; two sisters, Janet (Marion) Roberson of Pikeville, TN, Linda Webster of Washington; two brothers, Randy (Judy) Ellis of Eureka, Rick Ellis of Morton and a special family friend, Carolyn Howard of East Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his father and one niece, Michelle Ellis.
He worked as a laborer out of the Laborer’s Local #165 in Peoria and the Laborer’s International Union in Terre Haute, IN for over 20 years, retiring in November, 2015.
A “handyman”, David enjoyed trapping, long walks, gardening, working on cars and fishing. He loved his family and being with his children.
David was active with and attended services with the Hidden Manna Food Pantry where there will be a Celebration of Life gathering in the chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
