

PEKIN ~ David Scott Wherry, 34, of Algonquin passed away suddenly at 6:09 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007 while vacationing in Texas at the Palo Pinto General Hospital in Mineral Wells. Scott was formerly of Pekin.
Born March 4, 1973 in Pekin to Richard P. and Nancy J. (VanNatta) Wherry, he married Kara Lynn Schneider on October 2, 1999 in Palatine.
Surviving are his loving wife, Kara; two small children, Aidan Christopher (4) and Tess Helen (2), both at home; his parents, Richard P. and Nancy Wherry of Pekin; two brothers, John R. (Joyce Aquino) Wherry of Pekin and Richard V. (Deanne) Wherry of Medford, Massachusetts; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was assistant principal at Algonquin Middle School and was to begin a principalship July 1st. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University and received his Masters degree in Administration from National Louis University. Education was his true passion.
He was a loving husband and father as well as a wonderful son, brother, nephew, teacher and friend. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Palatine.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007at First United Methodist Church, 123 North Plum Grove Road in Palatine. The Rev. Michael Morris will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2007at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 North Northwest Highway in Palatine.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the David Scott Wherry Memorial Fund, in care of Algonquin State Bank, 2400 Huntington Drive North, Algonquin, Illinois 60102.
