Dawn Young

She was born February 17, 1970 in Winnipeg, Canada.

Surviving are her parents, Fred and Judy (Tassart) Young of Pekin; four children, Michael, Peighton, Wesley and Allan; two grandchildren, Dagan and Myla; one brother, John Young and one nephew and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Young.

A homemaker, Dawn was a 1988 graduate of Pekin Community High School.

Dawn had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She was a great artist and enjoyed playing softball in her youth.

Her memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Evangelist Doug Hafley will officiate. Visitation will from 1 to 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, 530 Northeast Glen Oak Avenue, Peoria, IL 61637.
