

Born September 10, 1951 in Pekin to Fred Leo and Helen Jane Boyer Carrick, he married Glenna Rae Parker on December 21, 1971 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jessica M. Carrick of Pekin; two brothers, Fred L. (Debra) Carrick of Rancho Cucamonga, California and John C. Carrick of Kingsville, Texas; two sisters, Bonnie J. Carrick of Pekin and Margaret (Amador) Aguilar of Glendale, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Thomas Carrick.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.
Dean worked for Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria since 1998 as a corporate real estate representative.
He was an Illinois registered land surveyor and real estate agent.
Dean had served six years as a regional and state board member for Destination Imagination/Odyssey of the Mind. He had also served on the Pekin Planning Commission and wasthe treasurer for the Central Illinois Volkswagen Association.
Dean enjoyedFormula 1 racing, playing golf, and collecting and restoring Volkswagens.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2006at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
