Deborah Sue Garman

Born February 3, 1954, in Peoria to Norman E. and Grace A. (Beams) LaFary, she married Roger Garman on September 25, 1976, in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Matthew (Carrie) Garman of Downers Grove; two granddaughters, Avery and Ruby Garman and three siblings, Pamela (Ron) Gage of Marquette Heights, Kevin (Debbie) LaFary of Green Valley and Rebecca (Terry) Tomlinson of Bella Vista, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Tommy LaFary.

Deb had earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology at Illinois State University.

She was a Laboratory Scientist for over 30 years combined at Graham Hospital in Canton and Mason District Hospital in Havana.

Deb enjoyed gardening, hiking, pressing flowers, needle pointing and other crafts. She liked reading mysteries and had many dogs and cats.

Her celebration of life gathering will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Kelleher's Irish Pub in Peoria. Appetizers and refreshments will be available. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
