Deborah Stricklin

The world was blessed with her spirit on September 14, 1962 in Harrisburg.

Surviving are her children, Deborah (Bob) Starr, Michael Hawkins, both of Pekin and Will (Kaitlin) Kinsman of Monticello, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Hazel Starr, Abigail Hawkins and Esther Melody Starr and her significant other Bob Kinney of Pekin.

She was preceded in death by her significant other, Al Kinsman.

Deb worked as a bartender for many years at several local establishments including the Corner Tap in Groveland and Par-a-dice in East Peoria. She also worked as a crossing guard in Marquette Heights for several years.

She was always looking out for others and taking care of other people, even in death she was able to bless at least two people with her organ donation. She helped organize the food pantry at the Court Place Apartments.

Throughout the years, Deb helped organize and rode in many motorcycle poker runs for various charities. She loved Halloween and enjoyed helping with Spook Hollow in years past.

Deb loved spending time with her grandchildren, collecting knives and anything Harley Davidson. She loved her Harley Davidson and took trips to South Dakota to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Deb was a part of ABATE of Illinois. She loved being in nature and on the open road. Deb's favorite thing to do was ride her motorcycle and travel around the country.

She had an intense love for all animals big and small. Her favorite being Bald Eagles, which she has a large collection of figurines. Throughout the years she had many pets including dogs, birds, fish and snakes. Her family knows she is enjoying being reunited with all of their love. We will all miss her humor, smile and beautiful blue eyes.

Her celebration of life gathering will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday November 9, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no service. All riders are welcome. Family requests to please dress casual by wearing a Harley Davidson, bald eagles t-shirt, tie dye or something blue.

Memorials may be given to the family to offset funeral costs.
