Delores Dixon

Born April 28, 1938 in Havana to Ora P. and Dorothy (Hiland) Hobbs, she married Robert R. Dixon on April 22, 1955 in Peoria.  She was preceded in death by her husband on April 21, 1998; her parents; 1 sister; and 1 brother.

Surviving are 4 daughters, Bonnie (Kenneth) Tonjes of Creve Coeur, Roberta (Ike) Andrews of Tremont, Brenda Dixon of Creve Coeur, and Candace (Andy) Loyd of Peoria; 1 son, Michael (Tina) Dixon of Tampa, Florida; 6 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Donna Markland of Macomb and Sandy (Russell) Hoosier of California; and 3 brothers, George Myers, Arthur Davis, and Kevin (Karen) Davis, all of Litchfield; and many nieces and nephews..

A homemaker, Delores loved her grandchildren and enjoyed babysitting neighborhood children for over 20 years.  She enjoyed crocheting, holidays with her family, and talking on the phone with her best friend, Shirley Graham.  She also loved animals of all kinds.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur chapel. Rev Ron Miller will officiate,  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral.  Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
