Denise Ann Cox

Born on June 19, 1959 in Pekin, she was the daughter of Willis Edwin and Betty Arline (Wiemer) Flexsenhar. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are one son, Garrett J. Sanders of Washington; one daughter, Erica N. Locke of Peoria; one nephew, Jordan M. Applegren of Washington; two nieces, Aubri J. Applegren of Dallas, Texas and Averi G. Applegren of Washington, Illinois; and one sister, Dianne (Timothy) Applegren of Washington.

Denise worked at Allstate for ten years in insurance sales.

With faith in the Lord as a constant in her life, her other interests ranged from bowling and roller skating to arts and crafts, including designing and selling hand-painted shirts at craft shows. She held great affection for her family and cats and enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel Music.

Denise grew up in Christian Assembly Church and was a member of Northwoods Community Church, both in Peoria.

A celebration of Denise's life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Christian Assembly Church in Peoria with a visitation one hour prior. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
