Dennis F Conroy

Born November 1, 1947 in Murphysboro to Laffolette F. Conroy and Virginia L. Hartsock, he married Shirley Ann Thompson on July 24, 1965 in Hurst.  She survives.

Also surviving are one son, David S. (Kristen) Conroy of Naperville; one daughter, Tamra D. (Darren) Flynn of Pekin; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; three brothers, William Dean (Carol) Butcher of Millstadt, Donald Terry (Susie) Conroy of Tampa, Florida, and Darren Conroy of Lead, South Dakota; and four sisters, Donna (Carl) Whitten of Town Creek, Alabama, Darla (Rick) Jones of Lead, South  Dakota, Doretta Jane (Windsor) Sturtevant of Roseville, California, and Dana (Ed) White of Beaufort, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant sisters, Diane Conroy and Delois Conroy.

Dennis worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 31 years, retiring in 1999 as a machinist in East Peoria.

An avid deer hunter, Dennis enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Private family services will be held.

Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
