Dennis L Hopkins

Born February 5, 1948 in Peoria to Clyde E. and Marion Jean (Lambie) Hopkins, he married Anna M. Wood on June 11, 1983 in East Peoria.  She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Marion Jean Hopkins of Pekin, five daughters, Patti Ramer, Mindee Hopkins, Bonnee Golden, and Genie Hopkins, all of Pekin and Kerry (Grant) Brisco of Indianapolis, Indiana; two sons, Chuck (Kathy) Davis of Mapleton and Mike Hopkins of Pekin; sixteen grandchildren; and one sister, Deborah (Thomas) Kotek of Wentzville, Missouri.

His father preceded him in death.

Dennis was an exterminator for Liberty Termite and Pest Control in East Peoria for twenty two years.  He then worked as a fork lift operator at X-PAC in Bartonville.  He attended Springlake Missionary Church in Springlake.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing pool, woodworking and was an avid NASCAR fan.  He was an auxiliary police officer for twenty five years for the City of Pekin.

His funeral will be Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
