Dennis W Trotter

Born November 20, 1953 in Fairfield to Charles Marion and Geraldine (Fleeharty) Trotter, he married Yolonna Jo Austin on November 20, 1999 in Pekin.

Surviving are his wife, Jo; two daughters, Sarah (James) Shelley of Maineville, OH and Shelly (Jim) Kleiber of Pekin; three sons, Kevin (Ashlee) Davis of Grand Prairie, TX, Brian (Gina) Davis of East Peoria and Nathan Davis of Pekin; nine grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; one brother, Roy Trotter of Pekin and one sister, Sharon (David) Ziebold of Washington. He also leaves one nephew and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dennis worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 41 years, retiring May 1, 2013 as an assembler at Building KK. He previously had worked as an over the road truck driver. He was a member of UAW Local 974 and Teamsters & Chauffeurs Local 627.

Dennis was a former member of the Peoria-Tazewell A.B.A.T.E.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, road trips and camping. He also loved playing with his grandchildren.

His memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Elder Clayton Denning and Elder Karl Gee will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 4:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
