Dennis Watson

Born July 16,1959 in Pekin to Dale and Anne “Kay” (Logsdon) Watson, he married Laura Wickert on March 8, 1994 in Groveland. She survives.

Also surviving are his father; two daughters, Chelsea (Beau) Watson and Angela Beutel, both of Pekin; one son, Steven (Jessica) Beutel of Bartonville; one grandson, Tate Cunningham of Pekin; one brother, Terry Watson of Kansas and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother; two grandchildren, Brendan Vanover and Braydan Kiddy and his grandparents; Lennie and Hazel Logdson and Louis and Jenny Watson.

Denny was a proud member of Laborers’ Local 231 in Pekin for 23 years. He was also a member of the Peoria Sportsman’s Club and also served on the board.

He enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with his family, especially his grandson. His family said his grandson meant the world to him. Denny was a fan of the New Orleans Saints and an even bigger fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. His grandson even nicknamed him Cardinal.

A gathering celebrating the life of Denny will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 17th, 2021 at the Peoria Sportman's Club. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
