Dolly Kay Morris

Born May 3, 1958 in Pekin to James and Marcella (Darling) Hasty, she married Martin Morris on April 28, 1978 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Marcella (Joshua) Ubell of Pekin; four grandchildren, Blaine McMahon, Madelyn McMahon, Julian Lanan and James Morris Jr., all of Pekin; her mother, Marcella Hasty of Pekin; two brothers, Marshall (Linda) Hasty of Morton, Jesse (Deb) Hasty, and one sister, Sally (Tim) Kiester of Topeka.

She was preceded in death by her father and one son, James Morris.

Dolly had worked at her father’s Amoco Station for many years, beginning right out of high school.

She graduated from Delavan High School in 1977, where she was Homecoming Queen and voted “Best Dressed.”

She and Martin had been “sweethearts” since the third grade. A devoted wife and mother, she loved with her whole heart and without judgment. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Dolly’s favorite flower was the Sunflower. As you plant your garden and flower pots this spring plant a sunflower in her memory.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Manito.

A gathering celebrating Dolly’s life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
