Donald Lee Cullen Sr.

Born December 21, 1936 in Limestone Township, Peoria County, he was a son of Albert Samuel and Edith Louise (Farley) Cullen. He married Barbara Allan Matthews on November 6, 1965 in Pekin. She survives.

Donald is also survived by four sons, Rev. Donald (Donna) Cullen, Jr. of Flat Rock, Michigan, Jeffery A. (Kristi) Cullen of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael A. (Judy) Cullen of Troy, Illinois; and Shane D. (Amy) Cullen of Peoria; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Cullen; and two half-brothers, Clifford Cullen and Ivor Cullen.

Don was a portion-control meat cutter for George’s Wholesale Meats and the Lariat Club in Peoria for 30 plus years, retiring in 1996. He also worked for various grocery stores in the Peoria and Chillicothe area.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mark Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
