

Born August 30, 1952 in Peoria to Russell J. and Bonnie J. (Hill) Espinoza, he married Cathy L. Wood on October 13, 2001 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Manito; two daughters, Bree Espinoza of Asheville, North Carolina and Bonnie J. Espinoza of Eugene, Oregon; one step-son, Kenneth Lusk of North Pekin; one grandson, Logan Johnson of Asheville; three brothers, David (Gloria) Espinoza of Bloomington, Dan (Marcy) Espinoza of Pekin and Dennis (Rosemary) Espinoza of Forsyth; one sister, Dianna (Joe) Casperowitz of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.
He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Don was an investigator with the Federal Public Defenders Office, working out of Peoria and Springfield for more than 10 years. He previously worked in law enforcement with the Pekin Police Department and the LaSalle Police Department. While with the Pekin, he was assigned to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Don enjoyed playing golf and for many years played in the Sunset Best Ball tournament.
He was of the Catholic faith.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June30, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Pastor Robert A. Long will officiate and a flag folding ceremony will be conducted by the United States Navy. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
Memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for his grandson, Logan, in care of the family.
