

Born February 12, 1929 in Pekin to Charles and Louise (Walters) Logsdon, he married Mary Alice Hamson on May 17, 1953 in Pekin. She died December 31, 2007 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Surviving are one daughter, Jennifer L. (Kenneth) Miller of Peoria; two grandchildren, Donald E. (Crissy) Miller and JenniRae (T.J.) Pemberton, both of Pekin; four great-grandchildren, Tiffani J. Miller, Austin M. Miller, Tyler J. Pemberton and Lucas K. Pemberton; two brothers, Wayne (Jo Ann) Dixon of Woodridge and Jimmy Dixon of Tennessee and six sisters, Judy Muhl of Chicago, Kay (Hank) Brenkman, Patty Harris, Janene Collins, all of Bolingbrook, Alice Dorgan of Elmhurst and Bernita Lamb of Wisconsin.
He was a Korean War Air Force veteran.
Don worked for Butternut Bread for 20 years, retiring in 1994 as a mechanic and loader.
Don enjoyed watching baseball, going to the races and looking for eagles along the Illinois River. He also took pride in picking up aluminum cans and watching for deer. He was a fan of the Bee Gees.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Rev. Mark R. Bassen will officiate. Visitation will be at 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
