

He was born May 30, 1944 in Chicago to Vera Kellogg and Raymond Snyder. He married Diana Fargher on June 19, 1966. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Dione (Kep) Gresham of Pekin; two granddaughters, Brogan and Tatum Gresham of Pekin; two brothers, Robert (Kay) Snyder of Pekin and Richard Boyd of Chicago; and one sister, Jean Porter of Lakewood, Colorado.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Morse Boyd.
Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus #3507, American Legion Limestone Post #979 and the Pekin Moose Family Center 916.
Don attended Pekin Community High School and then served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division from 1961-1964.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
Don was a salvage welder at Caterpillar for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He also worked as a salvage welder at Farm Shop Incorporated.
Don enjoyed many hobbies throughout his lifetime. He hunted, fished, and enjoyed fast cars and long drives. He became an avid golfer later in life. He leaves behind many treasured friendships. Don also enjoyed spending time with his two granddaughters. He brought Spudnuts to breakfast every Saturday when they became old enough to eat them. He was always available to take them to their activities and to the river to feed popcorn to the birds. They will miss their Pop very much.
Don was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Don requested that there be no visitation or funeral. To honor his wishes, there will be a celebration of life on Saturday, June 6th from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Gresham Home.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be in Camp Butler at a later date.
Our family would like to thank all of the OSF Hospice staff for their kind care during Don's short illness.
Also, we are thankful for the friends that made Don's last days memorable. Even though he only had a short time left, he was able to thank everyone for being his friend and that was very important to him.
