Doris I Fox Willison

Born October 11, 1926 in Burlington to Joseph and Anna (Boxleitner) Reiser, she married James F. Fox on February 7, 1948.  He preceded her in death on July 7, 1977.  She later married Donald E. Willison on November 28, 1981 in Peoria.  He survives. Also surviving are four sons, James (Peg) Fox of Elgin, Lee (Susan) Fox of San Antonio, TX, Christopher (Cindy) Fox of Florissant, MO, David (Shannon) Fox of Island Lake; one daughter, Anne Fox of Peoria; one sister, Marcella Baumgartner of Elgin; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister and five brothers.

Doris was a collection manager for Associates Commercial in St. Louis, Columbus and Orlando from 1981 until 1998.

A 1944 graduate of Hampshire High School, she then graduated from Rockford School of Business in 1945. 

She was a member of Creve Coeur Christian Church, where she volunteered at the church food bank, Young at Heart, which she and her husband were the ministerial leaders for 5 years, and assisted providing funeral dinners.  She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. 

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home & Crematory in Creve Coeur.  The Rev. John Plunkett will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Following the funeral, a meal will be served at Creve Coeur Christian Church. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Vincent’s Cemetery in LaSalle.
