

Born January 28, 1914 in Girard to John and Ruth (Rule) Cole, she married Ralph E. Brush. He died in August 1943. She later married Lacey E. Hunt on November 1, 1946 in Peoria. He died September 24, 1991 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Edward Hunt, and one grandson.
Surviving are one daughter, Carol (Don) Landrith of Pekin; two sons, Rev. Mark (Kathy) Brush of Ozark, Missouri and Rev. Gene (Jackie) Brush of Chicago; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maxine Routt of Toulon, previously of Marquette Heights.
She had been a school teacher in the Peoria area for 40 years, last teaching in the Mapleton School District.
Dorothy was a member of the Eastside Bible Church in Morton.
She enjoyed reading the Bible and was a "Prayer Warrior".
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October17, 2008at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
