Dorris L "Dore" Wyatt

Born April 22, 1924 in Kampsville to William and Ina (Akers) Wyatt, he married Wilma Puterbaugh on April 3, 1948 in Summit Grove.  She preceded him in death on January 7, 1990.  He later married Geneva Clarkston Jones on June 23, 1993 in Pekin.

Surviving are his wife, Geneva; 1 step-son, Ralph Bennett of Virginia Beach, Virginia;2 granddaughters; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was also loved by Geneva’s children, David  and wife,Mary Lou, Donna , and Delores and husband,Sam ; 7 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

Dore served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a former member of American Legion Post 1232 in Pekin.

He was also a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Pekin.Dore worked for Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for over 35 years, retiring as a blacksmith in 1986.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday at his church.  Visitation will be from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., Tuesday at the church.  Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
