

Born October 15, 1955 in Canton to Richard D. and Arvelyn J. (Welch) Miller, he married F. Joanne Luft on April 4, 1991 in Mason, Michigan. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Marjorie Anne Miller at home; his mother of Canton; his father of Lincolnwood; one brother, Stephen W. (Beth) Miller of Dunlap; one nephew, Bryan Miller of Lawrence, Kansas and two nieces, Dr. Katie Miller of Orlando, Florida and Amy Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was a 1978 graduate of Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, with a Bachelor Science Degree in Business Administration.
Since 1993, Doug worked for Caterpillar, Inc., where he was the company's engine warranty manager. He was a recipient of the Director's Award for most improved in Employee Engagement in 2007.
He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin and was presently serving as a member of the Staff-Parish Committee. He formerly served the church as a Trustee and member of the Parsonage and Grounds Committee.
He was a former member and parade chairman of the Pekin Marigold Festival Executive Committee.
Doug was a devoted husband and father and faithfully attended all of his daughter's musical and athletic activities. He was an avid collector of automobile memorabilia and enjoyed refurbishing cars.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2007at Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2007 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel and also from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Grace United Methodist Church, 503 North 4th Street, Pekin, IL 61554 or to the Pekin Ministry of Youth for Christ, 4100 North Brandywine Drive, Peoria, IL 61614 or the Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554.
