Born in December 1954 in Pekin to Charles Albert and Barbara Alice (Emerson) Nimmo, he married Patricia Kimble on July 22, 1978 in New York.
Surviving are wife, Patricia Nimmo of Pekin; his son, Douglas Arnold Nimmo, Jr. of Pekin; four brothers, John A. (Lori) Nimmo of Bartonville, William A. "Bill" (Edie) Nimmo of Chillicothe, Thomas A. (Ella) Nimmo of Germany and Bruce A. (Janet) Nimmo of East Peoria; his brother-in-law, William (Mary) Kimble of New York; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Doug retired from Pacific Ethanol in Pekin after 18 years of service as an operator.
His memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 4722 N. Sheridan Rd. Peoria, IL 61614 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
