

Born October 22, 1949 in Decatur to Edward and K. Pauline (Finch) Pumphrey, he married Linda Suzanne Henard on February 6, 1972 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Matthew Pumphrey of Morton and Tim Pumphrey of Pekin; one daughter, Trisha Pumphrey of Pekin; two sisters, Pam (John) Marsh of East Peoria and Paula (Scott) Armstrong of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and one sister, Penny L. Day, preceded him in death.
He worked at Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville for 35 years, where he was caster operator in the steel mill.
Ed was an active member of Pekin Bible Church, where he was a member of the Truthseekers Sunday school class and enjoyed participating in the Friendly Fisherman, Men's Ministry.
He loved motorcycling, camping and especially spending time with his family.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2005at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Richard W. Jones will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2005at the funeral home and also one half-hour before services on Tuesday. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
