Eddie J Byers, Jr.

Born January 8, 1961 in Paducah, Kentucky to Eddy Joe Byers and Judy A. (Thompson) Byers, he married Janice Pope.

Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Judy and Jesse Davis of Danville; his father and stepmother, Joe and Frida Byers of Chesnee, South Carolina; two daughters, Heather (Donald Jaegle) Byers of Bellevue and Amanda Byers of Peoria; two sons, Ronnie Byers and Kevin (Jackie McGirvin) Byers, both of Peoria; seven grandchildrenand one brother, Jeff (Marci) Byers of Cary, North Carolina. He also leaves his longtime girlfriend, Wendy L. Rogers of Manito.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Phelicia Byers and one brother, Stephen Byers.

Eddie had served in the United States Navy.

A self-employed carpenter, Eddie owned and operated Byers Construction in Central Illinois for many years.

He was a fan of NASCAR and enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing and camping. Eddie also was very adventurous and humorous yet kindhearted. He was his family’s superhero.

Eddie was of the Baptist faith.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral.
