

Born November 20, 1951, in Salem, Missouri to Edgar H. and Erna M. (Jennings) Conway. His parents preceded him in death as well as one sister, Elaine “Sue” Conway.
Surviving are three children, Elizabeth (Brad) Zimmerman of Manito, Jenny (Justin) Yancey of Harrison, Arkansas and James Conway of Montclair, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Isaiah Dale Rankin, Grace Elizabeth Yancey, Liam Conway Zimmerman, Vaughn Bradley Zimmerman and Isla Mae Zimmerman; one sister, Nancy (Steven) Frampton of Pekin; one niece, Andrea Roth; one nephew, Brandon Frampton; two close friends, Kathleen Bright and Della Shelton; several cousins; many good friends and his dog, Randolph James Conway.
Stan was a Senior Quality Engineer at Caterpillar, Inc. for 43 years, retiring in 2016.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren, walking his dog, feeding the squirrels and racoons by hand and playing the banjo and guitar. He also liked going camping, playing chess, Risk and Axis & Allies, and watching MASH and Beverly Hillbillies. Most of all he loved being at home.
Stan attended Gethesmane Church in Pekin.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday February 27, 2026, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Nathan Noyes will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday February 26, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday February 28, 2026 at Boss Cemetery in Boss, Missouri.
