Born March 24, 1934 in Peoria to Robert and Lillian (Catterall) Parr, she married Terry D. Reuling on October 12, 1957 in Bartonville. He died September 3, 2020 in Kahoka, Missouri. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Clarence Parr and Gladys Irene Parr Lawless.
Surviving are her nieces, Kathleen (Mark) DeDecker of Washington, Beverly (Michael) Stender of Mapleton, Julie (Chris Curfman) Lagacy of St. Petersburg, Florida and Susan (Michael) Hodges of Glasford and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
June worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in the benefits department her entire career, before retiring in 1989.
She loved everything related to the outdoors, as did her late husband Terry. So shortly after they retired, they moved to Seldovia, Alaska where they spent many happy years together. They eventually moved back down to the "lower 48," taking up residence in Kahoka, Missouri, where they hunted and fished on their 80 acres. June and Terry loved traveling and experienced many exciting adventures, making new friends everywhere they went.
June had a strong work ethic and was always eager to lend a hand to help anyone in any way. After her long, successful career at Caterpillar, she played the important role of helping to save the wildlife that were victims of the Exxon Valdez oil spill when she and Terry were living in Alaska. June had a special place in her heart for animals, and she and Terry were never without their beloved pets -- cats and dogs alike. Her kitty, Cricket was a true friend and companion, who she loved and cherished over these last several years.
June attended Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville before moving to Alaska.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, Central Illinois Chapter, 614 West Glen Avenue, Peoria, Illinois 61614 or Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 TAPS Lane, Pekin, Illinois 61554.
