Elizabeth Allene Jones

Born July 7, 1943 in Fayetteville, near Ramsey to Everette Glen and Josephine Marie (Spires) Womack, she married John Larkin Jones on June 2, 1961 at State Street Baptist Church in Lincoln. He died December 28, 2019 in Springfield. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Alex LeSuer.

Surviving are two sons, James (Barbara) Jones of Green Valley and John (Sandi) Jones of Lincoln; two daughters, Marsha (Pastor Steve) Weber of Morton and Angela Arnold of Mason City; eight grandchildren, John Jones, Jason Jones, Andrew (Flo) Jones, Mark (Rachel) Weber, Sarah (Jeremy) Tharp, Alizabeth LeSuer, Alyssia LeSuer and Matthew LeSuer; four great-grandchildren, Cade William Tharp, Riley Paige Tharp, Aspen Memphis Weber and James Everette Jones; three brothers, George Wesley (Brenda) Womack of Lewistown, William Eugene (Cheryl) Womack of Sherman and Paul Gordon (Jan) Womack of Salem; one sister, Viola (Larry) Weger of Vandalia and one brother-in-law, Larry (Linda) Jones of Hartsburg.

Mrs. Jones worked in food service at Pensecola Christian College for several years. She also had worked as an activity director at St. Clare Manor for several years in Lincoln.

A longtime pianist at First Baptist Church in San Jose, Mrs. Jones also worked at the Christian school there. She loved to play piano and was an avid reader. She also used to do some art and gardening. She loved to help her grandkids and other kids with their homework.

She was a member of Park Meadows Baptist Church in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will follow the funeral at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
