

She was born September 20, 1922 in Temple Hill, Kentucky to Clarence and Florence (Thomerson) Britt. She married Irving Howard June 2, 1945 in Pekin. He survives along with two daughters: Mary Frances (Edward) Sack of Largo, FL, Myra (Larry) Bachman of Pekin; four grandchildren: Michelle Jacoby of Texas, Jason (Brenda) Bachman of Peoria, Christopher (Tia) Bachman of Hickman, NE, April (Bill) McGinnis of Pekin; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Emma loved spending time with all her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, seven sisters, and one granddaughter, Kathy Ann Bachman.
Emma worked at the Pekin hospital as a nurse’s aid for almost 40 years retiring in the mid 1980’s. She also worked at the American Distillery in Pekin during the 1940’s. She enjoyed spending time in her flower and vegetable garden.
Funeral services will be Wednesday Aug. 1, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin. Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
