Ernest Wayne Cash

Born September 16, 1956 in Pekin to Delbert Edward and Ruth Lee (Smith) Cash, he married Betty Ann (Johnson) Tanner on September 1979 in Pekin. She died in 1983. He also was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, John Allcock and two sisters, Hazel Garrard and Wilma Cash.

Surviving are one daughter, Amy Cash of Peoria; one grandson, Jordan; two granddaughters, Beth and Tori; one sister, Judy Cornelison of East Peoria; four great-grandchildren, Ashten, Amelia, Courage and Luna and his niece, Valerie Levi.

He was a 1975 graduate of Illini Bluffs High School in Glasford.

Ernest worked for XPAC in Bartonville for 3 years as a fork truck operator, retiring in 2009. Previously, he was a self-employed mechanic for many years in Bartonville and helped farm in his younger years.

He was a fan of NASCAR and enjoyed fishing, camping and mowing for others.

A celebration of Ernest's life will be held at a later date.Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
