Eugene F Schneider

Born December 11, 1927 in Peoria to Frank and Ada (Couch) Schneider, he married Harriett Arnold on January 23, 1949 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Tom (Deb) Schneider of Pekin, Randy Schneider of the state of Washington and Kenneth (Judy) Schneider of California; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernadine Fredell of California; and two brothers, Ed Schneider of Missouri and David (Edith) Schneider of East Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He had proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Eugene had worked as the Vice President of the Underwriting Department at Illinois Mutual Insurance Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1993.

He volunteered with the American Red Cross for many years, traveling to many devastated areas. He also enjoyed gardening.

His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Chaplain Carolyn Roper-Fowlkes will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Following services at the funeral home, military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Private burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
