

Born December 24, 1930 in Farmington to Ewell M. and Margaret (Settles) White, she married Harold E. Jenkins on May 17, 1952 in Bellevue. He died January 19, 2003 in Mapleton.
Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne (Jim) Uphoff of Mapleton and Lynette (Jerry) Jenkins-Smith of Bartonville; one son, Michael Jenkins of Morton; three great-grandchildren, Kristin (Bill) Hedge and Jaimie Uphoff, both of Mapleton and Cory (Stephanie) Nelson of Washington; two great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons.
Evelyn was a member of Kingston Mines United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Bellevue Bible Church.
Evelyn loved living and working on the farm; it wasn't uncommon for her to drive the tractor or help bale hay. She helped raise many farm animals.
She loved cooking, baking and having family dinners. She also made and decorated many birthday cakes, wedding cakes and Christmas cookies.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn never new a stranger and always made everyone feel welcome. She was a special mother and grandmother and will be missed by everyone.
As per Evelyn's wishes, a private service will be held. Pastor Kathy Barrett will officiate. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
