Florabell Rebuffoni

Born March 20, 1928 near Kirksville, Missouri to LeRoy and Bessie (Crawford) Martin, she married Dominick H. Rebuffoni on May 8, 1948 in Pekin. He died on December 3, 1981 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Tina Dancey; one brother, James Martin and three sisters, Lorraine Wagy, Dottie Cassidy and Judy Smith.

Surviving are two daughters, Joann (Kim) Michael of Maryville, Tennessee and Kay (Ken) Schinkel of East Windsor, New Jersey; one son-in-law, Burt Dancey; eight grandchildren, Zedford (Kyong) Dancey of Annandale, Virginia, Sarah Dancey of Orchard Mines, Silas (Kristen) Dancey of Peoria, Rebekah “Bekah” Dancey of Orchard Mines, Nicole Schinkel of Orlando, Florida, Erika Salter of Monroe Township, New Jersey, Gwyn Schinkel of Howell, New Jersey and Denisha (Tony) Lubiani of Knoxville, Tennessee and twelve great-grandchildren.

Florabell worked at a doughnut shop as a teenager and then at her brother’s vaudeville theater in Kirksville, Missouri. She also worked in the bottling department at American Distilling Company in Pekin, where she made many great friends and also at Foster & Gallagher in Peoria.

She loved sewing, going to garage sales and playing bingo. She also was part of a pinochle club for many years. She was very crafty and was part of a generation with stamina that could do most anything. She loved to dance the jitterbug and was light on her toes. She enjoyed traveling and many bus trips with friends.

Her private funeral will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burt Dancey, her son-in-law, will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will follow in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
