Florence Marie McClure

Born April 7, 1949 in Cairo to Edwin Dalton and Pearl Francis (Hart) Newcomb, she married Daniel McClure on April 30, 1994. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Tony Clifton, Sr. and Casey Clifton; one daughter, Connie Clifton; her stepdaughter, Shannon Street; one stepson, Shawn McClure; her grandsons, Tony Clifton, Jr., Isaac Clifton and Cody Clifton; her granddaughters, McKenzie Williams and Arielle and Cabela; one sister, Marilyn Newcomb and four brothers, Steve (Becky) Newcomb, Larry (Bonnie) Newcomb, Melvin Newcomb and Phil (Jan) Newcomb. She also leaves several nieces, a nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Brandon Newcomb.

Florence attended South Pekin Grade School and graduated from Pekin Community High School.

She worked at Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped in Morton and was a caregiver at Oakwood.

She had a heart of gold and loved spending time with her grandkids. She also enjoyed baking, gardening, antiquing and dancing.

Services will be held at a later date with inurnment to follow in Green Valley Cemetery. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
