

Born December 23, 1961 in Lincoln to Raymond Thomas and Mary Ann (Tomlin) Burget, she married Randy Dean Watson on December 18, 1982 in Manito. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Kyle (Christine) Watson of Congerville, Mark (Natalie Fales) Watson of Hazen, North Dakota and Matthew Watson of Manito; five grandchildren, Sophia Watson, Henry Watson, Lila Watson, Nora Watson and Kate Watson; two sisters, Dana (Andy) Busch of Mahomet and Stacy (Mike) Burks of Pekin; one brother, Chris Budke of Jacksonville, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She also leaves four brothers-in-law, Russell (Leslie) Watson, Michael Watson, both of Green Valley, Denton (Norma) Watson of Collins, Iowa and Gary (Michelle) Watson of Manito and one sister-in-law, Lisa (Todd) Bailey of Forest City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Wayne Budke; two brothers, Glen Burget and Kevin Burget; one sister, Ruth Ann Cooper and three nephews, Landon Burget, Luke Busch and Jeremy “Hoss” Watson.
Gail worked in the medical field for 25 years as a medical transcriptionist, last working for Illinois Cancer Care in 2012.
She loved to bake and especially enjoyed baking with her grandkids. Her family was her first priority and was known as “Mimi” to her grandkids. Gail was blessed to have great friends and was a member of the same Bunko group for 30 years. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading and travelling. She and Randy visited 49 states together. Her favorite stop in Pekin was to Hacienda for dinner and a margarita.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. James Terrell will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Guidelines regarding social distancing and masks will be followed. Burial will be in Forest City Cemetery.
