He was born September 23, 1933 in Anna, Illinois to Herman and Nannie (Elam) Bean. He married Karen Connelly on September 8, 1967 in Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Surviving are his wife Karen of Pekin; two children, Stacy Bean of Peoria Heights and George (Patricia) Bean of Washington; four grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Adam, and Kailey; and three brothers, Harold and Duward Bean both of St. Louis, MO. and Ron Bean of Hays, Kansas.
George worked as a Core Setter for Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years before retiring in 1986.
He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall South Congregation and the U.A.W. Local 974.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a service will be at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Pekin Saturday March 5 at 3:00 pm. Woolsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
