George was born November 30, 1947 in Peoria to the late George and Thelma (Threet) Cathcart. George is survived by his children, Ma-Ria Cathcart of Atlanta, GA, Derek Cathcart of Hot Springs, AR;one grandchild, Joseph Alexander Cathcart;one sister, Sherrie (Andrew) Howe of Bloomington;two brothers, Paul (Lynn) Cathcart and Doug Cathcart, both of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving partner of 26 years, Maureen Ann Petragallo; his parents, George and Thelma and a brother, Steven Cathcart.
George loved the Las Vegas area and all the beauty it offered. He was the glue in our family and will be missed forever.
A celebration of life gathering will be from 6 to 8 p.m.,Friday, February 21, 2014at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematoryin Pekin.
